HELP TO TSUNAMI VICTIMS - What do I expect out of today's Meeting?Views: 221

Hello WCFC Members,

With less than 90 minutes to go for today's meeting to be held at WOODLAND DRIVE-IN RESTAURANT, I just took a count of how successful our efforts could be. Here are my reflections and suggestions, on the basis of the message / mail / phone responses I received.

1. If more than 10 people attend today's programme, it is a grand success.

2. Generally, people are ready to shell out even a few hundred rupees for charitable or humanitarian cause. But most of them don't find it easy to relate themselves with issues like organizing relief work, as it involves personal time-spending. But, it is exactly that which is required in attending to relief work as we are envisaging now. Committing personal time, I mean. This is the challenge that we have.

3. Converting ON-LINE GROUP relationship to practical real life venturing is a tough task. The internet psychology is so peculiar that somebody may feel like chatting with another, even on a serial professional issue, for an hour. But neither of them may find it easy to handle each other, when they happen to meet. This is something strange, but is a fact, I believe. This is a challenge that we face.

4. Of course, converting on-line group relationship to events of fun and frolic is not difficult. Fun is as much needed as work. But can it not arouse people's sublimal consciousness too, of empathy, sympathy, compassion, care, etc.? I am not sure. This too is a challenge staring us.

Can we break these challenges for good? Can't we put the internet to real social and huamanitarian causes? I do understand that some of the WCFC members have already started swinging to action on their own, without waiting further.

May be meetings like the one we organize today will give answer. Pl use the last 1 hour to bring the best friend you have for the meeting.

OCCASIONS LIKE THESE TEST OUR SENSE OF BELONGINGNESS.

See you in the evening. Pl collect your thoughts and come prepared to share them with others. Everybody is unique.

Venue: WOODLANDS DRIVE-IN RESTAURANT - CAR PARKING LOT

If you find it difficult to spot that small circle of WCFC people, just give a call to 93810 00516.
