Considering the kind of enthu being shown by Lavanya, Harish and Kanchana, this Msg Board is UNMODERATED with immediate effect. Earlier, I asked for the opinion from the members in general. But I know that with the kind of increasing DIGITAL DECIBEL, people don't find time to make quick responses. After all, WE CARE FOR CHENNAI has to create a magnum opus effect in the minds of all its patrons.
So, here it is! The WE CARE FOR CHENNAI Msg Board that can make your postings appear in a jiffy. Yes, this is going to be a on a trial basis. Let us see for a month how it gets going.
IMPORTANT
1. No blunt commercial msgs
2. SOS msgs are most welcome (like soliciting or offering blood donation, etc.)
3. Self Introductions are welcome.
4. Abusive language in postings is not entertained in this network.
5. Jobs can be advertised, provided the full identify of the advertiser is mentioned in the posting itself.

We may even be allowed to post enquiries such as if I want to know in which place a good lending library is available or how the IFB dishwasher is working ...such things.

Do you remember? I said quiet long back that this network would get going only when it reaches a membership of about 100, which is a kind of reaching the critical mass.
You know what? WCFC has just crossed a total membership of 100. Out of this, just 3 members (if I am excluded) are now playing the catalyst role - Lavanya, Harish and yourself.
Lavanya and Harish started making their presence felt very recently and I know that you have always been taking a proactive role in this network.
Now, how do I foresee the prospects? We require to spot out at least about 10-12 more catalysts, so that we will always have a fall-back option, for any programme of action. If we are successful in this exercise, I am sure that WE CARE FOR CHENNAI can catapult itself to a serious activity. That will also mean spread of e-civic consciousness and e-assertion bulldozing the enemy called "public apathy".
Let us spot more catalysts asap.

Kanchana Ravichandran | | Am positive too that things will start taking a definite shape. As u know right from start I never beleived that only if we reach the 100 mark can we be successful. I look at it this way - someone or the other will pitch in - the least expected would play the leading role and the person u were expecting to perform would be mute. So lets just ride with the tide and people will start pouring in with messages.
LK(g) suggestion of suggesting lending librabries will be a good start. Let us not just show our disapproval with the bad state of roads etc but talk abt how we can still be successful in spite of all odds.
I look forward to members' messages on quaint eating places - after all we eat to live ;-D or some unusual places - I remember some members would post some unusual happenings in temples in Chennai Network. This would make people eager to know more and come here to read or share.
I would like to talk on how and where all we can contribute for the upliftment of the less fortunate. I admire AID B'lore where members have started tution centres for the poor students everyday and also on weekends. I would like to know if there is a similar setup here and we can do our little bit for the poor. Ur ideas as always most welcome. Take care all

Kudos to Kanchana and Harish..Yes..we can take up some common topics and i would request those who are here in this board to introduce your friends to this board. This is our chennai and if all hands join together then it is will be the chennai we want to live in..

The simple point is this. I say this from my humble understanding of how any cause or mission gets a headstart. 100 is not a magic figure that I kept in mind, but I have been harping unto myself that WE CARE FOR CHENNAI (WCFC) would get the momentum, once the number of members come somewhere close to 100.
To spot out Lavanya and Harish, who have joined hands with us and now breathing life into WCFC, the total membership had to cross 100, though the membership itself is got just by a click into this network.
So, reaching "critical mass" is the name of the game and we have achieved that without orchestrated efforts.
Now, the next figure I keep in mind is 300. When we reach 300, you will find that WCFC becomes an easy talkpoint.
But, then, I am eagerly looking out for a few more solid and simple fellow-travellers, who will enjoy the bumpy ride, when the WCFC caravan moves about the town. Yes, I am looking for more such people right among the present 100 and am trying my best to reach them.
And I depend on you for making the search fruitful. I know how capable you are, Kanchana. :-)
