Rangashree Srinivas | | We at the Goodbooks Nature Club have got permission to do a nature walk inside the guindy national park (not the zoo!) on Sunday, 22nd January 2005. bring your kids along for a really nice experience! And a truly great way to appreciate our environment.
We have to report outside the Guindy zoo gate at 6.30 am
The entance fees for the park is Rs. 10 for adults and Rs. 5 for children
Camera Charges are extra
Kids should wear buff colured cotton ( comfortable ) clothes
Walking shoes and cap are essentail
Juice or/and water to drink
No eatable allowed inside the park
The walk will be for about one and half hours
A naturalist will accompany us arounds the park
Binoculars ( if you have) will be good to carry around
We have to keep the group to not more than 25 (kids & adults)so RSVP ASAP at Goodbooks at 24986618! No extra fee or hidden costs!

Prasad! Why don't you try organizing a walk -- may be in a small scale. I am out of Chennai on work and hope to be back by mid of next month.

Prasad - instead of trying to reinvent the wheel - why not use the services of Rangashree Srinivas and his Goodbooks Nature Club (24986618)? - they have the technology and setup already - be nice to them when you ask - don't make fun of them while pointing out to them that they have advertised their 2005 walk a year late in 2006 - join them and it can work - all the best - WCFC!

There is no need to make fun of me ;) because I had posted this message well in advance of the event in 2005! And btw I am a member of WCFC since May 2005, and am not Mr!
Of course I will be gald to organise the walk. As of now I am a bit tied up looking after my husband who underwent a major surgery last week. In anycase the weather is too hot now. June will be a better time. Will consult our resident naturalist and get back with some ideas on trails.
I can also organise a great interactive session with a human settlements architect who has done big research on the history of Chennai from village to metro. Especially interesting is the subtle tactics of the British in diverting commerce from traditional village to village routes by establishing 'Mount Road', thereby drawing to their favour the socio economic status of the people. This has been established by his team, primarily by pain staking overlapping & study of maps.Private Reply to Rangashree Srinivas |
